Ultrasonic Testing
The Principle Behind UT
A versatile technique for detecting internal flaws and measuring material thickness with precision. Our skilled technicians deliver ultrasonic testing in-house at our dedicated facility or on-site across the UK and Europe – ensuring quality before production begins.
Sound Wave Transmission
Short ultrasonic pulses (typically 0.1–15MHz) are transmitted into the material, travelling through until they encounter a boundary or defect.
Echo Analysis
Internal flaws reflect the sound waves back to the sensor. By analysing the timing and strength of these echoes, our equipment precisely locates and characterises defects within the material.
